IPL 2021: 14th edition of the Indian Premier League will be held only after March 28
IPL Schedule 2021 14th edition will be held only after April 10 : BCCI is yet to announce the dates for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 14th edition. However, the latest England tour of India schedule has given us an idea, of when IPL 2021 can start from.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the dates for India’s four-Test, five T20I and three ODI series against England. The Series begins from February 5 in Chennai for the first Test and ends on March 8.

It will be followed by T20I series which is scheduled from March 12 to 20. Following this, India and England will play ODI series which would end on March 28.
After this long series, it is likely that the players would need a break before joining their respective IPL franchises for IPL 2021 as players would be completely exhausted.
Around 10 days break for the players would help them, to be fully prepared to get ready for the new IPL season. So the IPL season would start by the second week of April 2021 as prior to it, players would get some time to gel up with their new team members, if the proposed mega-auction takes place.
This IPL season 2021, cricket board is planning to introduce two new teams. A final decision on it will be taken on December 24. As Ahmedabad is almost certain to be the new franchise.
As final decision will be taken from the representatives of all the state associations for the inclusion of two new teams on Dec 24, 2020.
Second new team, that would be either from Lucknow, Kanpur or Pune based on the decision taken on Dec 24, 2020.
In case BCCI AGM decides to postpone the proposal for the new teams for the IPL 2022, still Ahmedabad will be the first city that gets included in the IPL roster.
