The Bangabandhu T20 Cup going on in Bangladesh these days where Beximco Dhaka and Fortune Barishal faced each other in the eliminator on Monday Dec 14, 2020. Dhaka won the game by nine runs and made it to the playoffs, but an ugly incident that happened during the match which became viral in social media in few hours.
The skipper Mushfiqur Rahim was seen threatening his bowler Nasum Ahmed, while taking the catch of Afif Hossain. The 17th over was in progress when Barishal needed 45 runs off 19 balls with five wickets in hand. It was clearly Nasum’s catch who was standing at short fine leg for it. He was moving ahead for the catch when Mushfiqur ran around 10 yards from his keeper’s position, and was about to get bumped into Nasum and completed the catch.

Everyone were expecting a celebration for the wicket, instead Mushfiqur Rahim had a very short-tempered approach to his fellow teammate. A few harsh words from the skipper is natural and obvious but the way Mushfiqur Rahim behaved with the junior cricketer was unacceptable. Team mate tried to cheer the Junior player Nasum, but the player seemed to be disheartened.
In few hours on social media the incident was circulated and it was clearly seen fans reacting angrily on the incident. Later on Tuesday morning Mushfiqur Rahim took the social media platform to apologise to his cricket fans and teammate Nasum Ahmed. “First of all officially I would like to apologize to all my fans and spectators regarding the incident that happened yesterday during the match. I have already apologized after the game to my fellow team mate Nasum,” he said.”Assalamualaikum to all, First of all officially I would like to apologize to all my fans and spectators regarding the incident that happened yesterday during the match. Lastly the player also mentioned that, such kind of incident would never happen from him.
