Rohit Sharma scored his fifth ODI half century against England, and his 28th ODI half century overall. He also became the fourth Indian batsman to score more than 10,000 ODI runs, after Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly.

Mohammed Shami took his second four-wicket haul in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and his sixth four-wicket haul in ODIs. He also became the fastest Indian bowler to take 150 ODI wickets, in 87 matches, surpassing Zaheer Khan who took 95 matches.

England were bowled out for 129, their lowest ODI total against India, and their lowest ODI total in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Their previous lowest ODI total against India was 158 in 2008, and their previous lowest ODI total in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 was 185 against New Zealand.
