How Many Sixes did you hit today?
Rohit Sharma: I think it was 5, I think.
How many Boundaries and what was the strike rate?
Rohit Sharma: Boundaries, I think it was 16 or 17.
The strike rate was more than 150. Around 154.
Whose record did you break today?
Rohit Sharma: My good old friend, Chris Gayle. When I started playing this game, I never thought I’d be able to hit the 60s. Leave alone that many 60s, but I never thought I’d be able to hit 60s like that. Obviously, there’s a lot of work that has gone in over the years. So I’m quite happy with the work that I’ve done in so many years. I’m the sort of person, I will always be satisfied. I want to continue to do what I’ve been doing. So my focus will be on continuing to do what I do. But yeah, it’s a very small little happy moment for me.
Any Message to Universe Boss?
Rohit Sharma: Universe Boss is Universe Boss. Obviously, I’ve taken a leap out of his book. Over the years, we’ve seen him. Such a six-hitting machine he is. Wherever he plays, we both wear the same jersey, number 45. The number 45 has done it, so I’m sure he’s happy about it.
Match Report from Captain Rohit(Hitman)
Rohit Sharma: For us, what was important was to look at every game that we came against and not look too far ahead because it’s a very different format that we play now, the World Cup. Nine games, nine league games, and then the semifinals and the finals.
So for us, it is focused on that small, small thing, which is to look into the opposition that we play. And then today was Afghanistan.
We wanted to do well here, understand the conditions, and play accordingly. And I thought we played a brilliant game today. The bowlers did an exceptional job to restrict under 280.
It was a great effort because the wicket was really good to bat on.
And then I thought our bowlers really bowled well to restrict them.
