BCCI congratulates Ravichandran Ashwin on a stellar career

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) congratulates Ravichandran Ashwin on an extraordinary journey in international cricket. The legendary spinner announced his retirement after the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at The Gabba, Brisbane.

Ashwin’s 14-year career has been marked by unparalleled achievements in both red and white-ball cricket. With 537 Test wickets, 156 ODI dismissals, and 72 T20I scalps, he stands among cricket’s all-time greats. His 37 five-wicket hauls in Tests and six centuries underscore his brilliance as an all-rounder.

He was a key figure in India’s historic victories, including the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. His mastery of spin, relentless innovation, and impactful performances have left a lasting legacy.

BCCI President Roger Binny praised Ashwin as a cornerstone of Indian cricket, while Vice-President Rajeev Shukla lauded his game-changing approach. Joint Secretary Devajit Saikia called him an inspiration for future cricketers.
