Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is a franchise cricket team based in Hyderabad that participates in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team was founded in 2012 and replaced the Deccan Chargers in the IPL. The team’s home ground is Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, which has a capacity of 55,000.

SRH has been on the IPL winners list once so far when they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the finals of IPL 2016. The Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise is owned by Kalanithi Maran of the Sun TV Network.

The captain for the 2023 season is Aiden Markram and the vice-captain is Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

SRH Performance In IPL

SRH has made five playoff appearances in the last seven seasons, including their successful IPL championship campaign in 2016. In the last IPL edition, which was held in Dubai due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sunrisers finished at the third position.

However, SRH suffered a big blow on 27th April 2023 when Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar was ruled out for the remainder of the IPL 2023 season due to a hamstring injury.
